MATERIAL: Metal lamp shade frame, a bunch of folding meters and split pins.
TOOLS: Drill (preferably cordless) and long nose plyer.
Dismantle the folding meters by drilling out the hinges.
Fold one lip of the split pen round the lamp shade frame and then fold the other lip over.
Leave a little space between each folding meter segment to let the light through. WOOD ISN'T TRANSLUCENT!
'LESS IS MORE'! I mounted the lamp shade on a minimalist lamp foot (basicly a stripped down classical table lamp).
